PROJECT PULSE

An explainer video for PULSE, an EU science project with bold goals.

For this project, I got to play with texture loops, vector animation, and cell animation. Having this final result, with a more crafted and hand-drawn feel.

Plus, I got to collaborate with good friends who happen to be amazing artists. Working on this project was a true wonder.

ANIMATION PROCESS

Cel animation

For this shot, I opted for cel animation, so that the printed “paste”, mentioned on the voice over, could have a more organic feel

I used cel animation for the character's walkcycle loop, as a fastest way to get the animation done and as an opportunity to bring more expression to the animation

For this shot, the animation had to portray the cells behavior that, when exposed to magnetic waves, changes. I've tried to use keyframe animation, but it didn't had the organic feel we needed. So, we've decided to do it frame by frame.
